Meet Dr. Garrett Morris

Education and Experience

A New Orleans native, Dr. Garrett B. Morris graduated from Jesuit High School in 1989. He completed his undergraduate degree in 1993, at Holy Cross College in Worcester, Massachusetts, then returned to Louisiana for dental school.

In 1999, Dr. Morris graduated with his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Louisiana State University School of Dentistry. He remained at LSU to complete his endodontic residency and Master of Science in oral biology in 2002.

That same year he entered into private practice at Endodontic Specialists in Metairie, which offers patients evidence-based endodontics designed to save their teeth and restore quality of life.

Endodontics, like all areas of oral healthcare, is a constantly changing specialty. Research leads to new methodologies, treatment planning, and technologies, all of which improve diagnostics, procedures, and results.

Throughout the year, Dr. Morris completes many hours of continuing professional education, to keep current on the latest advances. He is an active member of the American Association of Endodontists, as well as a regular participant in the F. Harold Wirth Study Club.

This commitment to continual learning ensures Dr. Morris’s patients receive the most up-to-date treatment available.

Patient Care

Beyond his extensive clinical training and experience, Dr. Morris is a skilled and compassionate clinician. He takes time to explain clearly what will happen during a procedure and answer a patient’s questions fully before starting treatment.

During the procedure, Dr. Morris constantly checks on the patient’s comfort level and works efficiently without compromising on quality. Once finished, he reviews the post-op information and ensures his patient is confident in and comfortable with the procedure and level of care provided.

Outside the Office

When he’s not saving teeth and alleviating pain, Dr. Morris is most often found with his wife, Dr. Andra Ponson, at their home in Lakeview. He prioritizes time with family, including his three children — Meghan, Hayden, and Clayton — along with good friends.

Dr. Morris also enjoys hiking, fishing, traveling, and the racetrack.

Thank you so much for taking such great care of me! My tooth feels great! You all were just wonderful. Your office is beautiful. Your staff is efficient and pleasant. Now I know why all our patients return to our office raving about the excellent care they received in your office. Thanks again! Another happy patient!

Thank you for making me smile again. I put off having a root canal done as I was too scared! Well, the procedure was easier than having a cavity filled and I can now chew on that side again! Thanks for everything.

- Chrissy

I just want to tell you, thank you for being so patient with me the other day. I walked into your office quite scared and nervous; however, you reassured me that everything would be okay. Thank you so much. I am pain-free and it feels great.
